"Forgotten man Juan Pierre gets his first start of the season Sunday against the Diamondbacks in the final game of the Dodgers' opening trip.Kemp hasn't gone a single game this year without a hit, and it looks like every facet of his game is evolving in some way, so obviously it makes perfect sense to sit him now, right? Ugh.
Manager Joe Torre said Pierre will start in center field, and Matt Kemp will take a seat on the bench. Pierre was a replacement for Ramirez when Saturday night's game became a blowout, and he had an RBI single in only his second at-bat of the year."
Okay, I suppose Juan Pierre has to get some kind of playing time at some point, but does it have to be now? Does it have to be Kemp?
Sure, it's possible that Pierre could go 4-4 with a HR and a double, but it's most likely that Pierre will do his usual thing and go 1-4 with an infield single and 3 ground balls to 2nd base. I can't wait to get back from Easter brunch to see opposing players circling the bases on Captain Noodle Arm as well.
Happy Easter!
