JuanLove said...

WOW

The Stig said...

Totally lol! Ronnie "Money" Belliard and Mark "The Hammer" Loretta... just wow! That is so bad ass to come from behind like that with those guys and steal the victory.

How did Kershaw do today? Only saw a bit of it.

Wowie!

Bayareadfan said...

Feh, I was never in doubt...Dodgers had this game all the way...;p

JuanLove said...

Holliday finally helped us for once

lakersdodgersyankees4life said...

stig, he pitched great. Threw a good amount of pitches, but only madde 2 mistakes. Solo HR for Holliday(HAHAHA) and the Rasmus double. However, he made clutch pitch after clutch pitch to get out of jams... better get another start if neccesary

Jay said...

Hey, make sure to have the gif of Holliday getting hit in the penis, thanks in advance.

Megalomaniac said...

Yeah, we're gonna need the penis shot. Stat.

JuanLove said...

the Loney play to throw out Rassmus was play of the game other than the hits of course

lakersdodgersyankees4life said...

so, this is how the Cardinal locker room is like. Tony La Russa is crying inside. Puljos is counting his money he will get from a team other than the Cards. And, now we get to Holliday and Franklin.

They are in the middle of the locker room, fighting over a 7 foot rope to hang themselves... HAHA

The Dude Abides said...

Yep. Definitely need a GIF of Holliday getting "testicled" by the Loney line drive. Also, JuanLove is right. The Loney cutoff and assist on the Rasmus hit was HUGE.

Table said...

So awesome y'all.

Still would like to see Billingsly pitch game three.

damn I feel good.

The Dude Abides said...

I'd also be willing to bet that Holliday was fighting the stadium lights on the play. Remember Manny's awkward catch on the same type of hit?

Bayareadfan said...

Let this be a lesson to all the so-called "experts" out there who said the Dodgers couldn't pull this off...

THIS is why you PLAY the games!! So you say we can't hit Carpenter...we did, and won...then you say we can't hit Waino...and you were right, he was too dominant...

...but as I've been saying for a long time now, these dudes will NOT pitch every inning of every ballgame and eventually, other people will have to step up. That's why it's a team game you fucking numbnuts!

Bayareadfan said...

At least I didn't doubt you Loretta, tonight. I doubted you on Saturday and you proved me wrong. This time, you earned the respect.

And, why can't Thome get a hit like that? That's what he's here for...

JuanLove said...

thome would have, but he got beamed :D

Bayareadfan said...

Oh yeah, that's right lol

Still can't believe what just happened. Luckily, I'm at work or else I'd have no voice left.

Bayareadfan said...

Everybody must have succumbed to a stroke or something.

So quiet.

Table said...

OMG, look who is right behind the batter's box at the Angels Redsox game. One Scott Boras. LOL!!

Wil said...

Bayareadfan - "That's why it's a team game you fucking numbnuts!"

I'm confused, were you addressing that to the so-called "experts" or to Matt Holliday? lol

PenosCabell said...

I didn't see one minute of the game, but I can't wait to see Holliday fail in the ninth.

Awesome comeback.
Thank you Lorretta.

lakersdodgersyankees4life said...

wil, he was talking about the ESPN 'experts'...

I Alivandi said...

Loretta still has no business on the roster, but he was a fucking stud with that walkoff. Nice to see Ethier get off a bit too.

I still kind of hope Padilla gets shelled in the next game, and Bills is nails in game 4, if only to disabuse Torre of the notion that such a thing was ever a good idea.

Wil said...

lakersdodgersyankees4life - I know, it was a joke. Get it...Matt Holliday...numbnuts :) Sorry, you know it wasn't a good joke when you gotta explain it, lol

I Alivandi - I would agree if the Phillies weren't making short work of the Rox. As a result, I hope Padilla finishes it off and there is no need for game 4 or 5 for that matter.

PenosCabell said...

Alireza - You honestly want to see a Dodger struggle? I hope Padilla shuts St.Louis down so we can just move on.

Tim said...

Go figure...both guys you said should've been left off the roster came through.

I said it once and i say it again, Joe mother fin torre is a mother fin genious i mean come on, lorretta? 0-15 vs fraknlin? bases loaded 2 outs? I would've never done that in my life, no way, not even in MLB 2K that's just insane but, real life is much more unpredictable and Ryan Franklin was shakey, talk about choking!!! Broxton ftw!

btw....Torre please use Sherril as our closer in St louis, we all know broxton sux on da road.

Ed said...

I had no clue what Loretta's role on the roster was.

UNBELIEVABLY HE CAME THROUGH BIG TIME with the bat. Wow, good boy Loretta, what a way to end a career.

Ryan said...

My jaw is still on the floor. Even the highlights are getting me pumped all over again. I was lucky enough to see Kershaw strike out 13 Giants in person.. the kid is legit. Too bad most of the talk will be of the 9th inning.

It is also bone chilling to hear Dodger Stadium explode with cheering.

lakersdodgersyankees4life said...

wil, its so hard to tell sarcasim on the internet, espically when someone hasnt seen a lot of the other's posts...

Glenn said...

great game for us. funny game, baseball. play like usual "cannot hit" team for 8 innings, then one error turned everything around for us. just great...terrific for us. guess this means we'll have belliard and lorretta for the rest of the post season eh... oh boy.
great game from both today tho.

KempKershaw said...

Tim- It has nothing to do with Torre. His options were Loretta, Asumus, or Castro. Or Wolf if he really wnated to test how much leeway he has with the LA "media".

DeWitt should still be there in Loretta's place.

JuanLove said...

torre was pretty good today

kept kershaw in there even after he finished the inning with 97 pitches

used broxton in the 8th with the heart of the order up. sorry, but no other teams use their closer right there.

after thome got on he pinch ran O-Dog. I thought he was gonna leave him in, but he didn't.
Belliard ended up knocking in a run

McCheap strikes again!! said...

I hope Padilla shuts them down, the last Thing we need is another struggling starting pitcher!

Bayareadfan said...

Yeah, hard to believe DeWitt was left off the roster...and it hasn't mattered.

And Wil, yeah it was the experts, but nice joke.

I'm havin a great time pouring over the vids at mlb.com, then later its time to go to war against all the idiots on espn who picked the cards-phils NLCS...

Wil said...

My bad, I had said the Phils were makin short work of the Rox, but I must be dyslexic. I read today's score backwards...had the Phils winning 5-4 when it was actually the Rockies who won. It'll be interesting to see who takes the next game in that series.

Max said...

+1

I've been really "Oh nooo, not Loretta" about everytime he's comes to the plate.

You think I would've grown optimistic after he helped push us into the playoffs.

Atta boy Mark!

KempKershaw said...

Max- Exactly how did Loretta (help) push us into the playoffs?

If being one of, if not the worst (offensive) player on the roster is helpful, then sure. Big help.

labaseballfan said...

wish we could replace lorretta with dewitt now...uh, great hit lorretta, thank you...but don't think he can do it again. think lorretta is about the worst hitter on this roster.

Chad said...

TDA-Prophetic excuse prediction. :o

Bayareadfan-I always doubt Loretta. :o

Tim-That's not a fact that Broxton sucks on the road though. Maybe he does, or maybe it's just a coincidence. He hasn't shown that before.

JuanLove-Yeah, Torre was surprisingly good.
